Warmachine/Hordes Template Deviation

For the number of times we've had to calculate what model gets hit by what template after it deviates, I'm posting it for the world to see.

small base = 30mm = 1.18 inches, .59" radius
medium base = 40mm = 1.57 inches, .79" radius
large base = 50mm = 1.97 inches, .98" radius

Radius of the base + radius of the template = maximum deviation and still be touching model.
When hit, models within (radius of template - radius of model) of the target are hit indirectly.

3" template:
small base:
  • When target missed, deviation > 2.09" misses completely
  • When target hit, models within .91 inches are hit indirectly
medium base:
  • When target missed, deviation > 2.29" misses
  • When target hit, models within .71" are hit indirectly
large base:
  • When target missed, deviation > 2.48" misses
  • When target hit, models within .52" are hit indirectly

4" template:
small base:
  • When target missed, deviation > 2.59" misses
  • When target hit, models within 1.41" are hit indirectly
medium base:
  • When target missed, deviation > 2.79" misses
  • When target hit, models within 1.21" are hit indirectly
large base:
  • When target missed, deviation > 2.98" misses
  • When target hit, models within 1.02" are hit indirectly

5" template:
small base:
  • When target missed, deviation > 3.09" misses
  • When target hit, models within 1.91" are hit indirectly
medium base:
  • When target missed, deviation > 3.29" misses
  • When target hit, models within 1.71" are hit indirectly
large base:
  • When target missed, deviation > 3.48" misses
  • When target hit, models within 1.52" are hit indirectly

Please feel free to correct my math if I'm off.

I had to add anti-spam measures because, let's face it, almost nobody comments on blogs anymore unless they are spamming. Sorry.
